We arrive late to Rhodes and after dinner we packed for Symi tomorrow

We took the early but slow ferry 1.5 hours to Symi. A small but gorgeous little island.
After the hair raising walk to the town with a one lane road? and bikes cars and buses all trying to pass each other on the edge of the harbour and the people walking into town also trying to share the space.

After coffee we got into our accomodation early and decided to catch the local bus to Peti Beach . Lunch at the taverna on the water,a swim and drinks. Perfect day.
At dinner and back in the main centre of Symi I tried the local dish ,Symi prawns fried in the shell which you eat shell and all.
Yuk i couldnt eat them and settled for cheese pies John had a lovely sea bass. What a lovely Island , would of liked extra days here.
day 3
Back to Rhodes on the ferry with the afternoon spent walking the top part of the old town. The medievil city of Rhodes is UNESCO and its architecture style is of the period of the crusadws that combines byzantine French and Spanish influences. Its ottoman builds and castle walls significant.

We climbed up the old town clock tower built in 1852 with views over the city and drink included in the entrance. above
and then visited the palace of the knights, lots of mosaic floors uit otherwise not that interesting. The exhibition of old jugs statues etc some dated back to 1500 year BC
Day 4
We walked around the beaches and harbour, Seeing the Aegean sea , the Colossus of Rhodes…or where it was , now with deers on the pillars where it once stood.
We enjoyed the pool at the accommodation and drinks with Jackie , Mark Di and Mick who we spent the next 10 days with.
day 5
We walked the harbour again seeing the port and the colossus of rhodes as we went to get tickets to Turkey. this route got changed as the ferry to our destination didnt run on the day Kacke planned. A new plan was hatched.
We had drinks in old town and wandered around the shops.
lLunch was in the old town outside the hotel where we will spend out last night before going to turkey and after Lindos

Three days of lunching, a few swims at St Pauls beach
and Small beach.
John climbed to the acropolis with Mick and went exploring to see a cave no longer there ger the Mick spelt in in 1978. I went exploring the little lanes and shops with Di.
Jackie had injured her self so lots of walking restricted for her and Mark..
We spent lots of time on the open verandah of Jackie etc accommodation, we were staying in a unit further down the cobbled lanes.
Our Last night was back in the old town or Rhodes , more eating drinking and shopping.
