Five nights and four days in a great unit 2 minutes walk to the Acropolis.
First we went to Synamega square to see the changing of the guard but it was so crowded we couldnt see anything and left. Next
We walked around the ruins mostly 3-4 Ad and Hadrians gate
Next was the Acropolis museum which was interesting and built over the top of a ancient Aegean neighbour ruins from 200 AD. We had our photo taken here with the Acropolis in the background.

The acropolis is 1200 BC and the Parthenon and building 480 BC but they were destroy by the persians in 490 bc and also by an explosion plus Lord Elgen who took all the buildings materials away.
Athens was named after
Athena, the goddess of wisdom strategic thought war and crafts
Day 2
John went up to the acropolis , I didnt , I been twice before and it was expensive to go there. John was disappointed as most of the area is rebuilt and not original.
Then we went to the plaka which these days is all tourist shops but I did recognize the spot where Rex and I had Souvalaki in 1986 now a restaurant. i remember it as moslty markets and outdoor eateries.
You also got a good view of the Acropolis from here too
Day 3 Aegina
After a disaster getting to the Port with a bus that only went part way and then walking to the wrong side of the Port we finally got a ferry to Aegina. A nice greek island where we spent our time at the Port.
It was a nice island but we only had time for lunch ,explore the waterfront and a swim on the beach.
The subway home was much easier.
Day4
Our last day was washing and besides going out for lunch it was an easy day at the unit.
Day five
was packing and leaving the unit for the airport to go to Rhodes and a long wait for our flight connection
