UK summary
We had a great eight weeks and saw some amazing scenery.
Weather was mostly good and even sunny in Scotland which is known for rain and drizzle. A few days rain halted our activities. Most days it was jeans especially early in the day and it was warmer late afternoons.
All up English weather, grey skies ! but certainty in our fovour.
The roads off the main connecting roads consisted of heaps of narrow lanes hedging and stone walls. difficult driving.
20 zones were common in small towns
What we loved most was
stone bridges
amazing scenery and green landscapes
stone walls everywhere
sheep wandered everywhere even on roads
Accomodation was mostly good with a mixture of pubs , Inns B and B’s and self catering units if we had longer stays.
People were very friendly and helpful.
What we didn’t like was
crazy impatient drivers
car parks were expensive
paying for loos
small towns lots of cute lanes but often blocked by parked cars
peas and beans and chips with most food
internet terrible
John hated our hirer car, It had a very small engine and small low profile tyres which on the potholed roads was a issue. however its boot for luggage was good.
We noted
camping areas in abundance on the coast
hikers everywhere

In Whole a amazing scenic trip.
