We drove through Luxembourg towards Rochehaut., which is actually in Belgium. We crossed the border into Belgium near Bastogne where we went in 2024.
We stopped at Bouillon for a late snack, yummy french pastries and bought some for when we get to Pont-a-bar France where Gain and Sues canal boat is moored.
The next three days will be canal boating with them.
We left Pont-a-Bar
and headed to Charlieville Menziers for our first night . After arrival at the marina we went into town for a late lunch i before John travelled by bus to retrieve the van from Pont-a Bar where we stayed in the van park next to the marina. In Charleville we walked arpond the main square area and fountain.
Day2 on the Meuse river to Monthereme,
Gain and Sue stayed at the town wharf but the Aire for our van stay there was full but the lovely lady Captineer allowed us to stay in car park overnight. Hamburgers for dinner by the river. Most lunches were french traditional baguette, ham(Jambon) and cheese ( fromage), on the boat.
John and I again took the bus to retrieve the van.
Day 3 To Revin with a beautiful stop for morning tea.
John was getting the train back for the van this stop but both the 3 pm and the 4 pm trains never came so he took an Uber. We left Gain and Sue and went to the camping park as again the Aire was full and didn’t have power.
The van we have doesnt have any way to charge to battery except 240 volt power. A nuisance.
We washed and next morning discovered the campground ,all the ladies loos all 7 were broken and the van had to be filled with water with a bucket,hmmm camping in Europe certainty a whole heap different to Australia , in fact it sucks!
