Brisbane to home via the New England Highway , QLD.
We left Brisbane and said goodbye to Sophia and Christopher after fixing the tow bar hitch and finding new nuts for the bolts which had been lost on the bumpy road across Qld..
A slow drive to Warwick over the mountain, a huge climb pulling the van and road works everywhere. W arrived just before the rain and later a hail storm causing damage to both car and van.
Warwick
A walk and drive around town , seeing some historic buildings, shopping and there was a war memorial park in town.


next a drive to Lesley Dam


a rainy afternoon, storms close by but missing us this time.
Day 3
A scenic drive through Yangan with some old hertiage buildings , them Tannymore , with a lovely mural on a farm shed, following the scenic settlers route.

Then a morning tea stop at Killarney before driving out to
Daggs falls etc on the falls drive scenic route.

Carrs lookout looked out to Wilsons peak and to the right Mt Tambourine.

After lunch at the Glengallen homestead but we didn’t pay to visit the homestead . We drove up to Allora out past Goomburra on the Cedar scenic route and back to Warwick. Lots of farmland and some pretty scenery.


Stanthorpe
After arrival we went shopping and visiting
The apple place, cheese place and the xmas shed which had the hugest amazing display of xmas decorations, certainty some interesting places to look at here.
day 2
Today was Melbourne cup day and was spent at the van with fruit cheese and chorizo platter, all brought yesterday on our tour around.
Day 3
We visited
Quart pot creek
Staring at the thermometer near the information centre and walking to the Red Bridge built in 1880 a tailway bridge no longer used




Then a walk around sentimental rock with its large granite boulders


We drove up to Mt Marlay lookout

Saw some of artistic display in the laneways in the main street.

Day 4
Girraween national park and our first sighting of Pyramid rock (bald rock).

First stop The stone Pyramid outside Ballandean built by a farmer to use up his excess granite rock after excavations in 2006.

We did the 2 km walk along First the short section Wyberba river walk then out to Marble arch, amazing boulders balanced on each other to form a arch.



We drive back to Stanthorpe via Eukey and Storm King Dam.
Next we move into NSW.
