Isle of Skye.

After entering the Isle of Syke over the skye Bridge we drove up the east coast past Portree, the main township, with constant water views and waterfalls by the road.

Lealt waterfall

The sound of Raasay

Kilt rock and waterfall into the sea.

We stopped at Corran beach where dinosaur prints are left on the beach, a pretty area but we weren’t sure whether we saw them or not.

The next scenic point was The old man of Storr.

Quiraing , an taobh sear was our next visit with stunning scenery but on a one laned potholed road that climbed up the steep Trotternish ridge which was formed 60 mill years ago. We found one van camped on the side of the road, quiet a dangerous spot to camp.

Our accomodation is in Uig a lovely self catering unit overlooking the pier…Sykefall.

Day 2

We left the view of Uig bay

and drove to the Fairy Pools a 4:3 km walk past clear pools and small waterfalls , not as spectular as normal due to the lack of recent rain, except a little rain today.

the pools were lovely although the weather not so great and the mountains in the background amazing. We drove around other parts of the island, scenic shots below.

We had a five star lunch at the Three Chimneys’ restaurant near the Talisker Disterillery and spent an easy afternoon at our accommodation.

Eileen donan castle from 13 C was visited on the way off Isle of Syke, but we found the inside not that interesting but the views over the loch lovely.
