We drove over to Ghent from Brugge and parked at the park and ride outside the town and took the tram into Ghent central.
First stop Duivelsteen, the castle of Gerald the Devil , there was no entry


An uncared for statue Binnenstad

Bravos cathredral and ghent alter piece. The area into the back of the cathredral where the famous alter piece is was closed without paying and entry was long so we didnt see this.

all in the area of the Kongen square, some amazing architecture.
A canal cruise showed many bridges and buildings, also with interesting architecture.







Then after a great lunch we visited the outside of the castle of counts , the Gravensteen. (1180)


Lievekaai and Sint -Antoniuskaai the area coming along the canal and castle in back drop.


We visited Graffiti street

Bought some Cubdons heavy crusted lolly with raspberry centres., very yum, a local belgium lolly.
We visited lots of churches






and past the Vrijdag markt area and st Jacobskerk.
Graslei was the name of the bridge and quay area where lots of people gather and past the very ornate town hall on our way back to our accommodation at Brugges
