We stayed at Kassel as it was the home of the Grimm brothers \, their fairy tales well known to me as a child.
We spent two nights here one washing and the next we walked to the museum from our Shelplatz a long 3 km walk to the museum. The walk went through a lovely park but the museum itself was boring talking about the first German dictionary the Grimm Brothers started and very little about the fairy tales. So disappointing.

Geissen
This was our stop and our last two nights with the van , a little exploring of a castle near town but this stay is mostly to pack our cases and get ready for our flight home from Frankfurt.

Summary
We saw some spectacular scenery on this trip, our favourite the bavaian alps, and Austria.
The camping van was more than adequate although it had a very small shower and cooking space but the bed and storage were great. We found the camping grounds expensive and sometimes booked out especially need lakes. The shelplatz ‘s varied a lot some having good facilities some having none. the cost varied from 7 euro to 30 and most didnt have showers or toilets. Mostly power was extra. we decided that 3 months in a camper car was to long , next trip maybe trains .
Overall we found the Germans unfriendly and even at times rude. we saw some great things in Germany but definitely wouldn’t recommend 3 months we would recommend just doing the highlights. Other than Weiner Schnitzel and Condon on Blue we didnt like the typical german food, though John loved the sausages, especially the white munich sausage which I wasnt fond of preferring the bratwurst sausage.
Austria and France were beautiful and definitely the highlight.
We average 23 euro a night for accommodation, travel 6000kms and found the van cheap on petrol .
