Cox Peninsula , Dundee Beach, Crab Crawl and Litchfield. 2025

After our flight home from UK etc we had one night in a motel then the next day picked up the car and van to find it cover in tree sap and leaves combined with bat shit. What a job removing all that, we found a product from Repco that worked well but could only be used if the car metal was cold and in this heat that wasnt easy.

Two days in Darwin were spent shopping and hair and dr appts.

Then off to Dundee Beach

4 nights here relaxing swimming and enjoying doing very little.

Next Crab crawl resort

A lovely spot but with the midgies and heat we spent most of the day in the van except to have a look around and have dinner on the terrace. You couldn’t really explore the beach area because of the crocs and the tide that day.

A good place if you have a boat but otherwise boring.

We left after one night.

Litchffield National Park

1/ We spent the day getting to Litchfield , stopping at Berry Springs for supplies and lunch then onto the van Park, Litchfield safari camp with the rest of the afternoon in the pool.

day2 / A lovely swim at Wangi

then 4 wd to Blyth homestead where a family lived from 1928 to 1960. How a large family could live in this one room tin shack is unbelievable.

then out to Tjayhera falls and after a long 2 km walk into the falls and the plunge pool was a welcome relief.

It was then back to the park and another swim in the pool.

Day 3

After a slow start we went to Walker creek

We walked out to Rocky falls 600 m each way didnt like the area for a swim so went back to Wangi for another swim and lunch. The day was still dizzling rain so had an easy afternoon at the van.

Day 4 Our last day in Litchfield we went to Buley rock pools for a swim , to difficult for me to climb in and out but John went in three of the pools

next was Florence falls and after the 135 steps down enjoyed a lovely swim

then after the steps up again it was off to Wangi again for lunch and another swim.

We left litchfield national park and drove via Batchelor and Adelaide river to Pine creek for an overnight stop, dinner at the tavern.

next Kakadu
