This park is east of Dresden and 1/3 rd of it spreads across into Czech.
Day one
We arrival at Prina, a small village near the national parks and had camping by the lake. This turned out to also be a nudist lake …Different!
This wa our second longest drive and we got here after noon and the gates were closed for “sleeping” until 2 pm . Weird!!
We spent the afternoon during numerous loads of washing and trying to get it dry before dark.
day 2
We went our to the national park and walked to Bastei bruck and the lime stone formations it was such a nice change from towns . The limestone formations were fascinating and also provided a lovely view over the river Elbe.
Then lunch and beer at the little township of Stadt.
and Wehlen , a small town on the Elbe river. More german sausage and a potato soup for me.
Then back to camp via the bank and beer and grocery shopping.
day3
We set out for Konigstein on the Elbe river but no parking was available so moved on closer to the Czech border to Bad shaunau for morning tea and then on to kuwort Rathen a pretty spot on the river where we got a hot dog roll and sat by the river watching the ferry go backwards and forward.
then we visited the a model train museum , had a ice cream then drove onto find Amelsee on the other side of the river but gave up after getting abused by a german as google maps had taken us into a pedestrian only zoned town.
back to camp for more washing after a slow windy pretty drive through the trees and countryside.
