The turquoise coast , Perth and the Swan valley till dec 5 th.

After leaving Geraldton we followed the coast road down south to Perth with  views over the Indian Ocean. The wind was still blowing and the trees still leaning sideways as in Geraldton. The countryside mostly farm land now when inland and the coastline  beautiful the ocean colour changing from its aqua blues to a turquoise green colour.

This coastline with its turquoise colour and the reef just off the shore was found in many coastal and pretty small townships. We pasted Green head , Port Denison and Leeman.

Our first overnight stop at  Jurien Bay where the caravan park was right on the beach and the jetty was popular with swimmers jumping off the jetty into the water.

Onto Cervantes the next morning, arriving early then sight seeing out to the Lake Thesis and the Stromatolites and lookout at Hansen bay.

Thirsty point close to town was a bay where a lot of kite surfing was conducted, we just strolled around the waters edge amazed at how green the water was. above.

In town we lunched at the Lobster shack and undertook the tour of the processing plant there.

Cervantes is well known for its fishing and lobster industries.

And a morning drive to the Namburg National Park to see the pinnacles . Hundreds of limestone pillars in the sandy dessert. Quite a specular site and informative centre.

On leaving Cervantes the scenery became sandy dunes often overtaking the mulga and hundreds of black boys dotting the scenery.

Lancelin was a pretty town also known for its sand dunes.

Then after travelling through Yanchep and deciding not to stay in the campgrounds of National Park due to the hot temperature 41 deg and the need for air conditioning and power, we travelled onto the Swan valley, wine region of Perth. The caravan park was in an outer suburb of Caversham.

The first day here was a tour of the wineries and breweries, one brewery having the surname of Gott on its walls, debbie’s , my,maiden name. We brought a couple of bottles of wine and one bottle of liquor, espresso nice for after dinner with ice or one ice cream. we thought this would be nice at xmas at the Mulhalls.

The second day we drove into Perth to buy an Aussie flag for our boat Anja, and then drove from the city via east Perth’s coastline and river, the Swan river..

Onto Matilda bay reserve, JH Abraham’s reserve, point resolution reserve, Claremont Mosman bay and other picturesque points of the foreshores of the Swan river and Perth’s suburbs, one special spot a private area called Childers point reserve.

The statue in the park looking just like John!!!!!

Then it was onto the beaches of Cottesloe and Scarborough before back to the van park and the air conditioning the temperatures still in the low 40’s.

From Perth we will travel south to the Kari tree area and return to xmas at Perth with our friends Di and Mick.
